The Arizona Association of Airports (AzAA) has named Prescott Airport Manager Jeffrey Tripp the 2014 Airport Executive of the Year. The award was presented to Jeffrey Tripp at the AzAA annual conference in Yuma on April 29. Since 1992, AzAA has presented this award to honor an Executive member for his or her dedication and contribution to aviation through the operation and/or development of their airport, or for their significant participation.
Tripp was nominated by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in part for his long-term assistance with the Aviation Business Administration program providing assistance and mentoring to students engaged in pursuing a career in the airport management field and service on the Aviation Business Administration departments Business Industry Advisory Board.
AzAA was formed in 1979 to bring together the representatives of public and private airports and others interested in the general benefit of aviation to provide information, expertise and support to all those in the State’s aviation industry. Further, the Association works to foster public recognition of airports and the airport executive profession, and to assist in the future development of air transportation in Arizona.
Ernest A. Love Field is owned and operated by the City of Prescott. The Airport supports an estimated 700 jobs and generates $69 million to the local economy each year. In 2013, the Airport experienced over 250,000 take-offs and landings, making it the 37th busiest airport in the country and the 4th busiest in the state. In 2013, over 5,000 passengers used the airport to connect to flights through Great Lakes Airlines.
