Jeffrey S. Tripp accepted the position of Airport Manager for the Precott Municipal Airport and began work on December 14. He has over 16 years’ experience in the aviation industry including positions as the Airport Projects Supervisor at the Mesa-Falcon Field Airport (2006-2012), Assistant Airport Manager at the Prescott Airport (1999-2006), Airport Administrative Intern at Chandler Airport (1998-1999), and Airport Operations Technician at Scottsdale Airport (1996-1998). He started his career at the Prescott Airport as an Airport Maintenance Worker in 1996.
In addition to his airport management experience, Jeff also brings fixed base operations/aviation fuel service experience at Cutter Aviation (1997-1998) and PHX-Mesa Gateway Airport (1998) as well as supervising the (then) City-run FBO at Prescott between 1999 and 2006. Jeff is an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) of the American Association of Airport Executives.
In addition, he holds Masters of Aeronautical Science and Bachelor in Aviation Business Administration degrees from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Prescott). Jeff is also a part-time adjunct instructor at Embry-Riddle teaching airport management-related courses and has been a member of the University’s Aviation Business Department’s Industry Advisory Board since 2005. Finally, Jeff served on the Board of Directors for the Arizona Airports Association (AzAA) between 2004 and 2011 including a term as the Association’s President (2009-2010).
According to the City of Prescott’s Human Resources Department, the nationwide search attracted 53 applicants, 19 from within the state.
