54 aircraft departed Tuesday, June 21st for a cross country race to Daytona Beach, Florida. The race is an annual competition for women to challenge each other with their piloting, navigation, and other aeronautical skills. The Air Race Classic is in its 40th year and includes women pilots from all over the United States. Embry-Riddle has four teams competing in the race. Two teams are from their Daytona Beach campus and the other two are from the Prescott campus. The Prescott teams are flying Cessna 172S training aircraft.
The race terminated on Friday, June 24th and winners were announced Sunday evening. Congratulation to Embry-Riddle Daytona for winning not only the collegiate field, but the race overall!
